Outdoor Performance Event, Farnborough: Walk of the Dandelion with Luke Brown Company

PERFORMANCE

Daniel standing tall with yellow ribbons wrapped around arms.

On 3rd May 2025, ‘Daniel’ met the people of Farnborough at the monthly Craft Fayre along Queensmead, connecting with over 300 people. He shared handmade woollen dandelions — created earlier that day in a community workshop — each carrying handwritten messages of hope and support.

Part of Walk of the Dandelion, this heartwarming project invites people of all ages to experience joy, reflection, and connection. Daniel, an 8-foot puppet crafted from willow and recycled materials, gently interacts with passersby, offering dandelions and moments of kindness.

The dandelion, a symbol of resilience, creativity, and well-being, inspired conversations around nature, sustainability, and strength. Participants became part of the journey by making and gifting their dandelions through Daniel — reminding others of their own inner resilience.

"Its nice to see something that's more nature orientated. And even the adults like it. Its just lovely, a nice bit of interaction in the town centre”

"I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Daniel today in Farnborough town centre, and I have to say— his presence was truly captivating”
