RUSH! Dance Gala, 15th June 2024: Prince’s Hall, Aldershot.

On Saturday 15th June, a vibrant Gala of dance lit up Princes Hall in Aldershot, showcasing youth, community, and professional dance companies from Rushmoor and across Hampshire.

The evening celebrated the rich diversity of local dance, with styles ranging from Irish and Latin American to Contemporary, Street, Bellydance, Jazz, and Musical Theatre.

Performers spanned ages 6 to 60+, reflecting all levels of experience — from first-time performers to those in professional training — and representing a wide range of backgrounds, body types, ethnicities, and abilities.

Groups included OFLAC and Stopgap Dance Company, Hampshire Youth Dance Company, We Love To Dance, Chance to Dance Stars, FuzzyLogic, Morrigan Academy, SG Troop, ORB Youth Dance Co, Diamond Dancentre, and Shimmy Café Barefoot Fusion.

Themes explored were wide-ranging — from what captures our attention in today’s world, to time passing, rhythm and sound, personal motivation, and the pure joy of dancing.
